Bainbridge has a way of making an impression — even on first-timers. A blogger recently wandered into our downtown, strolled the River Walk, and soaked in the views at the boat basin… and let’s just say: they saw what we’ve known all along. Small town, big charm — the kind you don’t have to be from here to feel. Read what caught their eye (and their heart). https://www.islands.com/1873024/bainbridge-georgia-vibrant-downtown-riverside-walkable-area-plentiful-shops-sights-vintage-charm/

June's Fire Safety Tip: Cook Carefully *Never leave cooking unattended. *Be on alert! If you are sleepy or have consumed alcohol don’t use the stove or stovetop. *If you are simmering, baking, or roasting food, check it regularly, remain in the home while food is cooking, and use a timer to remind you that you are cooking. *Keep cooking areas clear of combustibles and wear clothes with short sleeves when you cook. *Turn pot handles inward on the stove, where you can’t bump them and children can’t grab them. *Have a “kid-free zone” of at least 3 feet around the stove and areas where hot food or drink is prepared or carried. *If grease catches fire in a pan, slide a lid over the pan to smother the flames and turn off the heat source. Keep lid on until pan is completely cooled. *If in doubt about fighting a small fire just get out. Close the door when you leave to contain the fire and call 9-1-1 from a safe location outside the home.

Water Service Notice: 84 East & Nebo Church Road Area Beginning the week of June 16-23, customers in the Highway 84 East and Nebo Church Road area may experience low water pressure over the next 5 to 6 weeks. Crews have temporarily emptied the water tower that normally supplies this area to perform interior painting and maintenance, which is expected to take up to six weeks. During this time, water service will be maintained through alternate sources within the city’s water system. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this important infrastructure improvement. For questions or concerns, please contact the City of Bainbridge Utility Department at (229) 248-2015.

Just 10 months ago, we stood on Tallahassee Highway breaking ground for the new Publix development. Since then, our city has celebrated major milestones with ribbon cuttings for Wawa, a fully remodeled Walmart, ALDI, Rural King, and next week — we’ll officially welcome Ollie’s to the community! Our commitment to becoming a regional shopping destination is evident in the incredible progress made in less than a year. Swipe to see the transformation — the first photo was taken last August, and the second shows the exciting development happening this week at the Publix site, which will also include five additional retailers.

🌟 Spotlight on Service 🌟 Yesterday, nearly 25 City of Bainbridge staff members volunteered with the Salvation Army’s Supper on Scott, helping to plate and serve close to 800 meals to anyone in need. It was a meaningful day of teamwork, service, and connection — a chance to give back and make a difference right here in our community. A heartfelt thank you to the Salvation Army for all the incredible work you do. We were honored to be a small part of it!
