Our city’s Sanitation Department plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, health, and overall quality of life in our community. Residential Yard Debris Collection
For residential customers, the Sanitation Department provides yard debris pickup, including leaves, limbs, grass clippings, and other yard waste. This service helps keep neighborhoods attractive while supporting environmentally responsible disposal of organic materials.
Leaf and limb pickup is included in the sanitation fee paid by city residents. Residents are asked to follow the guidelines below to ensure timely and efficient collection.
Yard Debris Guidelines
Yard debris must be generated by the homeowner or occupant, not by a contractor.
Accepted materials include small trees, shrubbery trimmings, weeds, grass, leaves, brush, and pine straw.
Limbs and cuttings must be no longer than four (4) feet in length.
Place yard debris near the curb or sidewalk, but not in the street or on sidewalks.
Yard waste must not be placed in ditches, gutters, drains, walkways, alleys, or roadways.
Metal objects must be separated from yard trimmings. Yard waste mixed with metal will not be collected.
Debris resulting from the clearing or trimming of vacant lots will not be picked up by the City.
Household Garbage Collection
The Sanitation Department also provides household garbage pickup services for both residential and commercial customers. Services include the collection of roll-out containers for homes and large dumpsters for businesses, ensuring waste is handled efficiently across the community.
