Chason Park

Get ready to immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Chason Park, which opened its gates in October 2023. This park is designed to cater to visitors of all ages, with meticulously crafted playgrounds for both big and small kids, offering endless hours of fun and adventure. The park's heritage garden promises to be a tranquil oasis, while the splash pad will provide refreshing relief on those warm days.

What truly sets Chason Park apart is its commitment to education and preservation. Throughout the park, you'll find ecology and history storyboards that tell the captivating tale of this unique space. For accessibility, a grand staircase with an ADA-compliant ramp leads you to the Flint River, where you can embark on a journey along miles of paved trails as the River Walk begins its scenic course right here at Chason Park.

Come October, prepare to embark on a new adventure at Chason Park, where nature, history, and recreation converge in perfect harmony.

Veteran Brick Program

Do you wish to honor a family member or friend who served? For $25, a memorial brick can be purchased and the city parks workers will install it along side the other in a special section set aside in Willis Park. At the Veteran Day program held each year, the names of newly purchased veteran brick will be read aloud.

The deadline is approaching for this year's Bricks for Veterans. Please have all money and order forms turned in to Allie Godwin by Monday, July 31st to make sure your brick will be here in time for the City's Veterans Day Program, November 11.
