City Councilman Kregg Close recently received the Certificate of Excellence from the Georgia Municipal Association. This level of distinction was reached after he completed 120 hours of credit through their elected official's leadership training.

We are thrilled to welcome Claire Phillips as our new Special Events Coordinator. Claire hails from Cairo, GA, and brings a wealth of enthusiasm to our community. A dedicated soccer player throughout her four years at Emmanuel University, Claire graduated with a degree in Organizational Communications. During her college years, she also honed her skills through an internship in the college's sports public relations department.
Claire is excited to start her journey here in Bainbridge, eager to meet wonderful people and uphold the tradition of outstanding events that make our community unique. We look forward to the fresh perspective and energy she will bring to our team!

City Councilman Kregg Close was awarded the Certificate of Honor Award at yesterday's Juneteenth Ceremony held in Willis Park. Councilman Close was sworn in to his seat in 2016, a seat previously held by Luther Conyers for 38 years.
Today's observance of the Juneteenth holiday:
All non-emergency City of Bainbridge offices will be closed Wednesday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. Wednesday's residential trash route will be picked up on Thursday and Thursday's route will be picked up on Friday.
Due to a train accident the following roads will be closed for the next several hours. Please be careful when looking for new routes...Mlk, Sims St. Independent St and Albany Rd by Stones.

Two local grassroots black community organizations will join forces this year to produce the city-supported 4th Annual Juneteenth Jubilee! Celebration set for June 15th, 16th and 19th at various locations in Bainbridge.
