Improvements, One Penny at a Time!
Thanks to the TSPLOST penny, a portion of South Broad Street has been resurfaced — making it smoother, safer, and better for everyone.
It’s just a penny, but it packs a big punch for our community!

🌟 Spotlight on Service 🌟
Yesterday, nearly 25 City of Bainbridge staff members volunteered with the Salvation Army’s Supper on Scott, helping to plate and serve close to 800 meals to anyone in need.
It was a meaningful day of teamwork, service, and connection — a chance to give back and make a difference right here in our community.
A heartfelt thank you to the Salvation Army for all the incredible work you do. We were honored to be a small part of it!

South Broad Street will be closed between Evans and Shotwell today and tomorrow to prepare for resurfacing. Residents on that street will still have access. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

💙 National Police Week Appreciation 💙
This week, our community made Bainbridge Public Safety feel truly special! A huge thank you to The Salvation Army, Bank OZK, and The Oak House for showing love and support to our officers — your kindness means the world.
We’re grateful for everyone who took time to honor those who serve and protect Bainbridge each and every day.

✨ Spotlight on Service ✨
Shoutout to Councilman Kregg Close, who serves on the Memorial Hospital Foundation, pictured here alongside fellow Foundation members!
This dedicated group recently provided brand-new furniture for the Emergency Department waiting room — the perfect highlight to the newly installed floors and freshly painted walls.
We’re so grateful for the Foundation and everyone who supports and donates to this incredible organization. Your generosity is what makes impactful improvements like this possible!

Hydrant Heroes Update!
As we move into the next phase of our Hydrant Heroes project, you’ll start seeing yellow fire hydrants with caps painted in different colors around Bainbridge.
🔵 Blue Caps = 1500+ GPM (Gallons Per Minute) – Excellent water flow
🟢 Green Caps = 1000–1499 GPM – Most commonly found in residential areas
These colors follow the NFPA Hydrant Code and help our firefighters quickly identify water flow capacity during an emergency.
As we continue updating hydrants across the city, rest assured — hydrants like the ones you see below are fully compliant and operational.

Attention Local Business Owners
This week, our Code Enforcement officers will begin visiting businesses to follow up on Occupational Tax Certificate renewals.
We understand that with the rollout of our new software system, some businesses did not receive their renewal notice or experienced issues using the portal.
If you're unsure about the status of your certificate, please contact Maitlyn Rentz at 📞 (229) 248-2000 ext. 138 for assistance.
Thank you for helping us keep everything up to date!

The BHS Jazz Band will be performing in Chason Park this evening beginning at 7:30 PM. Come out and enjoy the music while supporting the high school band program!

We were so excited to be part of this morning’s Good Morning America segment, where we had the honor of surprising the incredible Patricia Isom on air for Mother's Day! 🌸📺
There aren’t enough ways to say thank you for the years she has spent not only raising her two amazing sons, but also nurturing and inspiring the hundreds of students who’ve walked into her classroom.
Patricia is the true definition of strength and grace — someone who’s taken life’s lemons and made the sweetest lemonade. 🍋💛
Happy Mother’s Day, Mrs. Isom — you are loved, appreciated, and absolutely unforgettable.

You know what they say about May flowers? Well, they’ve arrived — and we have our incredible Parks Department, led by John Parker, to thank!
Next time you see these hard-working folks out and about, give them a shout-out for keeping our parks beautiful all year long.

May's Fire Safety Tip:
Plan Your Escape From Fire
*If a fire breaks out in your home, you have to get out fast.
*To prepare, sit down with your family and agree on an escape plan.
*Be sure that everyone knows at least two unobstructed exits — doors and windows — from every room.
*Decide on a meeting place outside where everyone will meet after they escape.
*Have your entire household practice your escape plan at least twice a year.

Did you know that we have afterhours phone numbers for all of our utility services? You can use these numbers to reach one of our staff in the event of an afterhours emergency.
