We have received questions regarding our boat basin animals Ringo and his friend the emu.: But first a little back story, for years the animal enclosure at the boat basin was home to several goats, emus and a donkey named George, and subsequently, a donkey named Ringo. As time went on, the number of animals dwindled, and we were left with just Ringo and one lone emu. We are thrilled to share that our beloved donkey, Ringo, and the emu have found a new home on a beautiful local farm here in Decatur County! Their new home is a sanctuary for animals, complete with several other donkeys, emus, and horses. With plenty of space to roam and new friends to meet, we are confident they will be very happy! We can’t wait to see them thrive in their new environment!
