Water & Sewer Director: Ronnie Parrish
The Water and Sewer Department of the city as the name implies provides water and sewer services to the citizens of Bainbridge. Bainbridge is blessed with an abundance of excellent underground water. Bainbridge has three deep wells capable of pumping up to 7 million gallons of water per day. The water quality pumped is excellent and no treatment is required with the exception of chlorination, which while not necessary to purify the water, is required by the State of Georgia. The City has four 500,000-gallon overhead storage tanks which provides uniform water pressure throughout the City. The City operates one sewage treatment plant capable of treating 2.5 million gallons of sanitary sewer per day. Water rates are based on monthly meter readings at $1.10 per thousand gallons. Sewer rates are based on 85% of the water bill and are capped at 10,000 gallons for residential customers. Water and sewer billings are on a monthly basis.
