National Mayhaw Festival, Third Weekend in April. For information, call 229-758-2400

The annual Mayhaw Festival is held in Colquitt on the third weekend in April at the Spring Creek Recreation Park, and Mayhaw Jelly, reputed to be "the best jelly in the world," is always in abundant supply. Colquitt is famous for the mayhaw, a tart fruit from the rose family that grows in swampy areas. Boats and nets are frequently used to harvest mayhaws, which make the delicious rosy-orange jelly.

The 6th annual Mayhaw Festival Century Bike Ride will be held in Colquitt on Saturday, April 4th beginning at Miller County High School (see below for application & more information).  The Mayhaw Festival Classic Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, April 9th at Crooked Oak Golf Club.

"Friday on the Square" kicks off the weekend with a bake sale with local cakes, pies, and other goodies, lots of good country barbeque.

Saturday will start with a 5K race and a 1 Mile Fun Walk at 8:30am at Colquitt Freewill Baptist Church.  A Main Street parade will begin at 10am followed by local entertainment.  Vendors will be selling arts, crafts, collectibles, and a variety of food.  There will be many special attracions and displays for all ages.  There will be a Mega Slide, Rockclimb, Funhouse, Spider Mountain and Pony Rides for children.

The musical comedy, May-Haw, will be held on Friday at 7:30pm and Saturday at 2:30pm & 7:30pm in Cotton Hall, a renovated warehouse transformed into a rustic, multi-stage theatrical setting.
