Cotton Hall is the home of Swamp Gravy, Georgia's Folk Life Play and The Storytelling Museum. While in Colquitt, be sure to visit this 70-year old former cotton warehouse and witness first hand how a community breathed new life into an old, historic building.

Cotton Hall was built in the early 1930s as part of the New Deal. Back then banks would loan farmers money if they sold their cotton to a gin that owned a bonded warehouse. This building was used for about four years as a cotton warehouse until the boll weevil came and brought King Cotton to its knees, giving rise to the peanut industry.

The Storytelling Museum features approximately 10,000 local and regional artifacts that interpret the life of rural Southwest Georgia.

Guided tours of Cotton Hall, The Storytelling Museum and the Veterans Memorial Courtyard are available by calling 229.758.6686.
