Transfer Station

The Transfer Station is located at 1005 Avenue C, Bainbridge, GA 39819, and is open to the City of Bainbridge and Decatur County residents on Thursdays and Saturdays, from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm--unless either day falls on a holiday or holiday related weekend.

Forms of Identification (Required):

City Residents:  Picture ID (must match the address on the utility bill to qualify for free drop-off) and a current utility bill from the City of Bainbridge.

County Residents, Commercial Businesses, and Landlords:  Must have an account number. Account numbers can be obtained at City Hall, located at 101 South Broad Street, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Fees:
City of Bainbridge customers with valid forms of identification are allowed one FREE drop-off per month (up to one ton).  Additional drop-offs will be charged $35 per ton.  Any drop-offs weighing over one ton will be charged $35 per ton.

Decatur County residents, commercial businesses, and landlords will be charged $45 per ton.

Requirements:
Everyone who wishes to drop-off must present all forms of identification (see above), weigh-in before emptying items, AND weigh-out after emptying items.  Failure to weigh-in or weigh-out will result in a charge. Everyone must complete a weigh ticket, with an account number, before emptying items.

Paint
Batteries
Chemicals
Hazardous Materials
Building Materials: lumber, boards, fencing, roofing materials, bricks, blocks, sheetrock, etc.

Road-side Trash Piles:     
Courtesy letters will no longer be mailed to property owners and tenants for piles put out for pick up by City of Bainbridge Sanitation Department. Once a pile is reported it will be put on the list for removal and scheduled to be removed no more than one week after reported. Sanitation Department drivers and Marshal’s office employees will be reporting piles when seen.

When the Transfer Station opened to the public on October 1, 2014, customers were allowed one free drop-off a month.  At this time, the Sanitation Department stopped the free annual roadside pick-up of bulk items. 

Any piles that are mixed with yard debris will be charged an additional $50.00 separation service charge if the Sanitation Department is sent to remove pile.
